About Nashipear.com.au
Nashipear.com.au is built as an Australia-first reference for Nashi pears: the varieties sold here, the local autumn season, backyard growing conditions, recipes, nutrition, and the pear industry behind the fruit.
Nashi was first planted commercially in the Goulburn Valley in the 1980s, and Australian Nashi growers in the Goulburn Valley, the Huon and Tamar valleys in Tasmania, and the Granite Belt in Queensland still produce most of what local shoppers see in winter. The site is built around that supply chain.
The editorial angle is deliberately local. Australian seasons (February to May), Australian varieties (Nijisseiki, Hosui, Kosui, Shinko, Shinseiki, Chojuro), Australian climate zones, Australian biosecurity issues (codling moth, fire blight, pear and cherry slug), and Australian English all matter here. Most online Nashi content is written for the United States, Korea, or Japan, where almost none of that is the same.
